From Maluku to Malaka

JOURNEY TO THE WEST edition (1 of 10)

The blue line on the picture shows the route of "Journey to the West"
On our second trip abroad called "Journey to the West", we had a new achievement of our own traveling record. We took three different airplanes and visited four airports on different islands on the same day. It was really tiring though. Starting from Pattimura Airport to Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar by Garuda Indonesia, we then took Citilink to Juanda Airport, Surabaya. Finally we took Air Asia Indonesia to LCCT, near Kuala Lumpur. What a journey...

Sultan Hasanuddin Airport (UPG) was 1 of 4 airports we stepped on the day.

Another fact for this trip was that we got the cheapest ticket ever to Kuala Lumpur. It was only IDR 975,552 for two persons, return ticket. 15 kg baggage was included for each trip. I also accidentally bought the travel insurance due to the rush in booking. If I had not bought it, the cost would have been cheaper for sure.

Well, on this post I won't tell about any interesting places we visited during this trip. I will only tell you what happened on the day we arrived Malaysia for the second time. To read the story of our first visit to Malaysia, please click here.

Arriving LCCT now we were not as confused as the first time we got there. We already got an idea where to go and quickly bought a KLIA Transit ticket to Bandar Tasek Selatan. But as there's no rail connection from LCCT, we had to take a feeder bus to Salak Tinggi station first. The bus fare was included on the train ticket. While on the train, I could access the internet to contact my host in KL. It's not merely a connection but it's 4G, very fast indeed! I recommend to take this train if one prefers comfort and time saving.

Bandar Tasek Selatan was connected to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, creating a huge integrated terminal south of the capital city. We were once amazed of this place but then we felt that a too big place was apparently not good for some reasons. It made us waiting for our host at the wrong place. We were there till almost midnight. Remember, 23.30 in KL means 00.30 in Ambon! I woke up at 05.00 this morning, so I had travelled for 19.5 hours this day!

Finally Mr. Yap, our host, called us and we walked a bit to the right place. He took us to his house within an area with many streets had funny names like Jalan Pintar (Clever Street), Jalan Cerdas (Smart Street), Jalan Bijak (Wise Street), etc. We met Mr. Yap's brother who had just come back from New Zealand and had a jetlag. Chatting for few minutes, we then went to bed coz it'd been too much for us today.

The Couple were getting ready for "The Journey to the West"
